The book fans of Automobile Magazine could suspect that we editors get to drive Ferraris every now and again, but that is not the case. Poignant, I've been to Maranello something greater than once, and I've driven something greater than one Ferrari on Ferrari's extremely popular Fiorano test track. As a matter of fact, I went to the media start for the 458 Italia over in November 2009 and stayed at a lodging that was opposite an indirect from the Ferrari processing plant. However, we have more than enough editors and staffers who have never been to Maranello, around them duplicate editorial manager Rusty Blackwell, who solemnly updated me that, in his whole six-year tenure at Automobile Magazine, we'd never had a Ferrari in the workplace test armada. Gratefully, Ferrari North America Public Relations Manager Matteo Sardi sent a 458 Italia test auto our direction for four short but bright days in mid-July. We took advantage of it since this was a Very Big Deal here at 120 E. Emancipation Street.
West coast editorial manager Jason Cammisa, who has spent more time driving fluctuating Ferraris in well known years than anybody else on staff, hopefully happened to be in town when the Ferrari reached, and he began off the week by giving engine gopher and University of Michigan undergrad Rich Otto a hair-raising ride through the avenues of Ann Arbor that green Mr. Otto should not soon neglect. Phenomenally, this capacity-sliding venture through an office stop break away the consideration of the Ann Arbor police.
