The 2011 Subaru Impreza WRX conveys the same vast, swaggering, go ahead-and-attempt-me bodywork as the STI. The same forceful sash, the same swelling bumpers--the backs in fact jab out past the taillights--and the same quad-fumes pipes that distend from the precise BMW M5-ish back valance.

Flared bumpers sort snappy Subarus. Yet, when the third-cycle Impreza WRX reached 2008, it didn't have them. No, the WRX wore these even wheel arches more fitting to a Corolla than a rally-reared exhibition machine. This revamped vast-form is a welcome come back to the sort of animosity that the final-cycle WRX had trickling off its flanks--failing to possess much in somewhat, ready with disposition.
On the surface, contrasts from the STI exist just in the grille, brands, and spoiler. Underneath the sheetmetal, obviously, its a distinctive story. There are no powertrain updates for 2011, but that would be no grave thing: The WRX utilizes a 265-stallion, 2.5-liter level-four with 244-pound-feet of torque, and a viscous focus differential. The crux for the present year's WRX lies in how the bodywork moved the drive.
